In the course of my art career, two things have become increasingly apparent. The first, is that there are a lot of people who really appreciate art and would like to invest in an original painting or drawing, but their resources are limited. The second, is that in order for me to paint and make a living at my profession, I must spend a great deal of my time promoting my art by attending art shows, etc. The time spent promoting and traveling takes me away from actually producing art. I have wondered for quite some time how I could reconcile these two problems. I have an idea which might be a partial solution. The idea follows and I can't really describe it except to say that it is a form of credit or lay-a-away plan or perhaps like buying stock and investing in a company and received a dividend. In other words you would be investing in me as an artist for one year.
I thought that perhaps if you really want a drawing or a painting, you would be willing to pay a certain amount of money per month for one year. In return you will receive an original piece of art work or a number of pieces of art work. You will determine what you want, the size of the artwork and the amount you can afford. There is no interest charged on the balance owed. You could choose a landscape, wildlife, western, your house portrait, a personal portrait or whatever you would like. The minimum monthly payment is $20.00 per month. I charge $4.00 per square inch on all paintings and drawings. Matting and framing are not included in the price. Example: 8" x 10" painting would be 80 square inches. 80 x $4.00 = $320.00. This would be about $27.00 a month for 12 months. Once 50% of the balance is paid I will ship the painting to you and you continue to make monthly payments until the balance is paid.
